Project Due Diligence
Carbon Project Evaluation Service (CPES)
Isidore’s Carbon Project Evaluation Service (CPES) product was created in response to widespread uncertainty and criticism toward project integrity and quality within the industry. Some of these criticisms are valid and could threaten a project’s long-term viability. We seek to identify these threats and independently evaluate projects using a variety of carefully selected metrics which Isidore verify on-ground.
We look at projects with a wide-angle lens, assessing integrity and risk of both carbon projects and their co-benefit components. The metrics utilised are value-weighted and have been developed to deliver substantially improved transparency for all stakeholders of a carbon project and/or the associated credits.
These metrics are quantitatively assessed by Isidore; each is weighted by its importance and scored to deliver a final score as well as category scores for a project which can be benchmarked against a database of comparable projects. Detailed commentary to all scores is provided. In total, 24 metrics feed into the following 3 categories:
Carbon Quality (65% weight)
Co-benefit Quality (30% weight)
Alignment with UN SDGs (5% weight)
